Ice Hockey

Ice hockey is a fast-paced team sport played on an ice rink, in which skaters use sticks to shoot a rubber puck into the opposing team's goal. It is the national sport of Canada and hugely popular across northern Europe and the United States. The National Hockey League (NHL), based in North America, is the world's premier professional league. The Stanley Cup, awarded to the NHL champion, is one of sport's most storied trophies. Ice hockey also features prominently at the Winter Olympics and the IIHF World Championship. Legends include Wayne Gretzky - widely considered the greatest player ever - as well as Mario Lemieux and Gordie Howe.
