Physiological density compares the population to the amount of arable (farmable) land, helping assess pressure on agricultural resources. Agricultural density measures the number of farmers relative to arable land, offering insight into farming practices and land use.
Population growth is influenced by three main factors: birth rates, death rates, and migration. Countries with high birth rates often experience rapid population growth, while nations with aging populations and lower birth rates may see slower growth or even population decline. Migration, whether within a country or across international borders, also changes population distribution by shifting people toward areas with better employment, education, safety, or living conditions.
Urbanization has significantly changed global population patterns. Today, more than half of the world's population lives in urban areas, and many large cities continue to expand.
